I quit my job, sold my apartment in Amsterdam
I chose large companies, complex challenges and the busiest boardrooms. In my mind it was simple: if I could succeed there, then I was successful. And honestly, I was good at it.
I like things big. Scale, vision, meaning.
I worked hard, showed up fully every day and built a strong career in senior leadership and transformation. Successful on paper, ambitious in energy.
But something started to feel off. First quietly, then unmistakably.
My body gave signals I had ignored for too long.
And with that, the questions became louder.
What am I actually doing.
Does this truly make a difference.
And do I want to keep doing this until retirement.
Ambition and success can be beautiful, but only when they stay connected to what feels true. I had lost that connection.
Until one day I knew: this no longer works. This is enough. This has to change.
I resigned. Sold my apartment in Amsterdam.
And moved to Luxembourg without a polished five-year plan.
A leap that looked brave, but was mostly honest.
And of course the questions followed:
Who am I without all this.
What do I really want.
What is this next chapter about.
